Instrumentation for Power Generation
Analytical and engineered instruments for fuel quality, water systems, boilers, thermal equipment, gas flow, materials verification, and selected nuclear temperature applications.

Supporting water chemistry, thermal performance, fuel systems, and plant integrity
Power plants depend on reliable water, fuel, flow, temperature, and material measurements to protect equipment, maintain thermal performance, support stable generation, and investigate abnormal operating conditions. Measurement requirements vary substantially between gas-fired, liquid-fuel, coal, combined-cycle, cogeneration, and nuclear facilities.
Blue Dragon Technology supports these environments with TOC and turbidity instruments, sulfur analysis where fuel quality requires it, engineered tube-skin and multipoint temperature systems, nuclear in-core temperature assemblies, ultrasonic gas-flow meters, and XRF instruments for materials verification and plant laboratories.
Measurement challenges in this industry
Water and steam-cycle quality
Monitor organic contamination and turbidity in raw, treated, boiler, condensate, cooling, and wastewater systems.
Boiler and tube temperature
Measure tube-wall and multipoint temperatures to support thermal performance and identify abnormal heat distribution.
Fuel quality and gas flow
Measure sulfur where required and monitor fuel-gas, process-gas, vent, or low-flow gas applications.
Surface and equipment temperature
Use engineered contact measurement where conventional insertion is impractical or where equipment-surface information is required.
Nuclear temperature applications
Apply project-specific in-core temperature systems where plant design, qualification, and documentation requirements are fully defined.
Materials verification
Confirm alloys and components during maintenance, receiving inspection, repair, and outage activities.

Explore →Industry questions.
Which water measurements are most relevant to power plants?
The requirement depends on the plant and water system. TOC and turbidity may support raw-water treatment, demineralization, condensate investigations, cooling systems, wastewater control, and high-purity water monitoring.
Can tube-skin thermocouples be engineered for boilers or heat-recovery systems?
Yes. The assembly is reviewed against the tube geometry, materials, operating temperature, attachment method, thermal movement, routing, and termination requirements.
Are nuclear temperature products standard off-the-shelf instruments?
No. Nuclear in-core temperature systems are project-engineered and depend on the reactor design, qualification basis, documentation, materials, interfaces, and plant-specific requirements.
Can XRF support outage and maintenance work?
Yes. Handheld XRF can support material identification and alloy verification, subject to the required calibration, surface condition, measurement procedure, and quality system.
