- Measurement Objective
- Local equipment-surface temperature measurement on machinery, engines, housings, bearings, flanges, bolted assemblies, and other industrial equipment using a gasket-mount thermocouple.
- Signal Outputs
- The passive thermocouple provides a millivolt signal through the selected lead and termination. A transmitter, conditioned output, local indication, or communication protocol is supplied only when specified.
- Data Integration
- The sensor can connect directly to a compatible thermocouple input or through a project-selected transmitter to a PLC, DCS, protection system, historian, or condition-monitoring system. Thermocouple type, polarity, extension cable, grounding, shielding, and termination must match the receiving system.
- Alarms & Diagnostics
- High-temperature alarms, equipment-protection logic, sensor-failure detection, open-circuit handling, and communication status are provided by the connected plant instrumentation rather than by the passive gasket sensor.
- Documentation
- The project package may include sensor and mounting drawings, gasket and hole dimensions, thermocouple and lead details, tag information, termination drawings, calibration certificates, inspection records, and project-specific quality documents.
- Commissioning Support
- Commissioning can include mounting and fastener review, gasket contact and lead-exit inspection, polarity and continuity checks, loop testing, transmitter or PLC channel verification, and handover documentation.
- Lifecycle Support
- Lifecycle support covers gasket contact, fastener security, lead and insulation condition, terminal checks, calibration guidance, replacement sensors, troubleshooting, spare parts, and long-term technical assistance.
