The Model 810H2S-TS is the dedicated Blue Dragon H₂S and Total Sulfur tape-analyzer configuration. Direct H₂S is measured by lead-acetate tape reaction-rate colorimetry, while the Total Sulfur path uses a heated hydrogen-conversion section to convert sulfur compounds to H₂S before tape detection.

The 810H2S-TS is a separate commercial model from the dedicated H₂S-only Model 810H2S.

How it measures

Measurement Principle

Direct H₂S is measured by lead-acetate tape reaction-rate colorimetry. In the Total Sulfur path, sulfur-containing compounds are converted to H₂S in a dedicated heated hydrogen reaction section. The resulting H₂S is then measured by the same optical tape detector, allowing the configured analyzer to report H₂S and Total Sulfur according to the selected measurement sequence.

Project Integration & Support Scope

Blue Dragon reviews the measurement objective, interfaces, documentation, commissioning, and lifecycle requirements as part of project configuration. The scope below identifies the principal items to confirm before order placement.

Measurement Objective
Continuous online hydrogen sulfide and Total Sulfur measurement in gaseous process streams using direct lead-acetate tape detection for H2S and a dedicated heated hydrogen-conversion path for Total Sulfur.
Signal Outputs
Preliminary configurations provide two standard or up to six isolated 4-20 mA outputs, depending on the ordered H2S/Total Sulfur sequence and system. Relay outputs and service interfaces are configuration dependent.
Data Integration
RS-485 Modbus is planned as the standard digital interface, with optional Ethernet or Modbus TCP and service interfaces. DCS, PLC, SCADA, and historian mapping for H2S, Total Sulfur, status, and alarms must be defined for the approved project configuration.
Alarms & Diagnostics
Concentration alarms, analyzer faults, converter temperature/status, diagnostic status, relay count, fail-safe behavior, tape and sample-system status, and remote alarm mapping will be defined by the final approved datasheet and ordered configuration.
Documentation
The final project package is expected to include the approved datasheet, operating manual, sample-system and conversion-section drawings, utility schedule, I/O list, communication information, calibration procedures, hazardous-area documents where applicable, and FAT or SAT records.
Commissioning Support
Planned commissioning scope includes sample-system and vent checks, flow and pressure setup, tape and humidification checks, heated conversion-section and hydrogen-supply checks, zero and span validation, output and communication testing, alarm testing, response verification, and operator training.
Lifecycle Support
Planned lifecycle support includes H2S sensing tape, humidification consumables, sample filters, flow-path and conversion-section components, calibration gases, troubleshooting, spare parts, repairs, and long-term technical assistance.
Online Analyzer Configuration

Sample System & Online Analyzer Readiness

Reliable online measurement depends on the process interface as well as the analyzer. Confirm the following application data before final configuration and quotation.

Sample Type & Phase
Gas-phase samples for direct H2S and Total Sulfur measurement. The gas matrix must be reviewed for compatibility with the lead-acetate tape path and the dedicated heated hydrogen-conversion section.
Measurement Range
Confirm normal and maximum H2S and Total Sulfur concentrations, alarm points, required measurement sequence, and any high-concentration service. Project-specific dilution may be required.
Sample Conditions
Provide pressure, temperature, flow, moisture, condensate risk, particulates, corrosive components, sulfur-species profile, gas composition, adsorption risk, and contaminants that can affect tape chemistry, sample transport, or the conversion section.
Sample Handling
Define sample take-off, filtration, pressure and flow control, humidification, fast loop, stream selection, dilution, calibration routing, safe venting, and the dedicated heated conversion path used for Total Sulfur measurement.
Installation Area
Confirm backpanel, wall, rack, cabinet, or analyzer-shelter installation, ambient conditions, maintenance access, safe-area or hazardous-area classification, and required certification.
Utilities
Confirm electrical supply, sample gas, unrestricted safe vent, certified zero and span gases, hydrogen for the Total Sulfur conversion path, and instrument air or purge where required by the ordered installation.
Response Requirement
Define the required H2S and Total Sulfur update sequence, alarm response, process-control or quality-monitoring duty, and allowable sample-transport delay. Final response and cycle performance are configuration dependent.
Integration Requirement
Confirm the number and scaling of H2S and Total Sulfur 4-20 mA outputs, RS-485 Modbus settings, optional Ethernet or Modbus TCP, relay logic, DCS or PLC tags, historian requirements, and responsibility for wiring and signal mapping.
Commissioning Requirement
