HygroTrace Ultra-Trace Moisture Analyzer

Coulometric ultra-trace moisture analyzer for quantitative gas-moisture measurement from 0.1 ppmV with calculated water dew point.

Brand: Vympel Manufactured by: LLC Scientific Production Association "Vympel", Russia Supply & support: Blue Dragon Technology
Product Overview

Purpose-built measurement, clearly presented.

HygroTrace is an automatic coulometric analyzer for quantitative measurement of trace moisture in natural and process gases. It reports moisture volume fraction and mass concentration and can calculate water dew point using the measured moisture value and the applicable pressure basis.

The analyzer is designed for applications where low-level moisture must be measured directly rather than inferred only from a conventional dew-point sensor. Blue Dragon Technology reviews the gas composition and chemical compatibility, required range, source and measurement pressure, sample cleanliness, pressure conditioning, bypass flow, hazardous-area requirements, outputs, and verification method before configuration.

Distinctive Capabilities

  • Quantitative coulometric measurement for ultra-trace gas-moisture applications
  • Direct reporting in ppmV and mg/m³ with pressure-dependent dew-point calculation
  • Low measurement-cell sample demand for high-value or limited-flow gases
  • High-pressure source sampling through an approved pressure-conditioning arrangement
  • Hazardous-area field design with analogue and Modbus communications

How it measures

Measurement Principle

The sample passes through a coulometric measuring cell containing a moisture-reactive reagent. Water from the gas is quantitatively absorbed and electrolyzed, and the electrical charge required for electrolysis is proportional to the moisture entering the cell. Water dew point is then calculated from moisture concentration and pressure.

Application Engineering Notes

Ultra-trace sample integrity

At ultra-trace levels, sample-system design is part of the measurement. Elastomer selection, regulator design, tubing finish, purge procedure, dead legs, leakage, adsorption and desorption, ambient humidity, and stabilization time can materially affect the result.

Gas compatibility

Application review requires the complete gas composition and identification of any component that may react with the phosphorus-oxide-based coulometric chemistry.
